I have an appointment with Dr. Ramsey Dallal in July. Anyone heard of him? Supposedly he has a lot of experience doing lap-ds.

I\'ve never heard of him. I\'d love to know more about him. Where is he? How many lap-DS has he done? How and where and with whom did her learn the procedure? How much surgical experience does he have, in general and in bariatrics?

I was told by his office that he is moving from Pittsburgh to Newport Beach California. Supposedly he has done a lot of WLS laparoscopically. The dietician in the office said he has done several hundred lap-DS procedures. On the obesityhelp.com site it shows that most of his surgeries are RNY. There are no posts there either positive or negative about him.

Anyone out there with any experience?

Jackie, I would be very surprised if this surgeon had done \"hundreds\" of Lap DS and not one of his DS patients had ever posted, neither here nor on the 2300+-member Yahoo! Groups duodenalswitch list.

His profile on the AMOS link that Menno gave claims that he\'s done 50 LapDS and 1 open DS. Whomever you spoke with at his office is saying something different. Maybe the dietician doesn\'t know any better, and was referring to his overall WLS experience. Still, I\'d advise you to be cautious, and make sure you ask for details about his DS experience and who mentored him in this procedure.
