Default Breakfast!

I have tried for a long time to make sure to eat a filling, healthy breakfast (DS-healthy, that is).

This morning:

Good sized bowl of plain yogurt, big spoon of apricot preserves, cut-up banana, granola. All mixed together.

How about you?

I agree 110%. My typical morning starts with 2 eggs and a few ounces of ham or sausage along with an ounce of cheese. It makes it so much easier to cope with the all day munchies I still fight to drive from my mind. A light yogurt mid morning or a small piece of fruit also helps keep the demons out of my head that tell me to eat donuts, cookies and basic crap that is ever present in the office I work in.

I have also found it better to only carry larger bills on me that the candy machines won't take, they will take coins, ones and fives. I put those in a change jar at home destined for vacation spending in January. So far this year I've stashed about $200 this way.

found a new favorite store, LL Bean. I went in to buy a pair of fleece lined jeans (it's cold on the shores of Lake Ontario) and I first tried on a 42. Too loose. Tried a pair of 40 waist. Snug but comfortable. I've gone from a 72 to a 40. I litterally had tears in my eyes.

Almost every morning I have grilled bacon = 25g protein.

Occasionally, I have smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on half a wholegrain bagel = 25g protein.

I follow this up at work with a yoghurt = 7g protein and a latte = 10g protein. This gives me a marvellous start to the day by 11am

Every morning - english muffin topped with slice of cheese, bacon and two fried eggs (about 25 grams of protein). I use the already-cooked bacon. I buy it in bulk and keep it in the freezer. Its not as good as "real" bacon but its quick (can be microwaved in about 45 seconds) and doesn't mess up the kitchen.

For a change of pace, hollowed out bagel with cream cheese and lots of lox. I pull all the dough out of the bagel allowing me to eat a whole bagel.

P.S. - my cholesterol is fine.
