That sounds nice! Got a nice vichyssoise recipe?
I made baked brie with blackberries and strawberries; fresh sangria; two cheese plates with dried cherries, almonds; pork tenderloin sliders with shaved parmesan; pears with chocolate, and artichoke cheese triangles for my party. Yeah. I had a piece of pork or three. :P A bite of a strawberry. - small chili from Wendy's - 2 oz pork - 3.5 oz chicken salad water isopure Now I call it a night with another bit of water. Coulda been protein, but hey, protein tastes gross before bed. :P Tomorrow I get to try the sardines, liverwurst, and pate. I need a cracker already for that. cheers /k |

Vichyssoise doesn't have much protein and it's a ton of dairy....but here's a recipe for a pretty lowfat gumbo...you could substitute fish for scallops if you want...
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/03/di...tml?ref=dining Also I'm betting that Wendy's chili has plenty of sugar (not to mention other crap) in it. Do you have the brand Amy's Kitchen in supermarkets near you? I really like their organic chilis, especially the organic medium chili: http://www.amys.com/products/categor...od_category=15 (and you can view the ingredients - pretty decent) |

No the vichyssoise was not for today. :P just a random question.
Never heard of Amy's Kitchen, but will pop into the organic store and see if its' there. Though, my mother will be back today and may just lean on her to cook some. ![]() Dunno about the crap in the chili. Sure it had beans, which meant carbs, but in nutrition info, it seems unusually straight forward. Had celery, onion, tomato in it. |

Hi there -
in general, I am, very much. tonight sucked, as I had eggs and sausage this morning (well inside of a b'fast taco) and then chicken salad for lunch. Tried, since it was pork, to have a rib for dinner, and that did NOT go down well. Felt immediately unwell and had to go throw the bites up. Tried to eat some shrimp after that and was pretty much done for the night. Didn't eat the shrimp. Insides hurt, throat hurt, and was just over it. Had tea and now going to bed. In general though, folks are complimenting on how I look better. Still gotta get these vitamins fixed though. Placing an order this week for separate adek. thanks! /k |

Kit -- I want to share a few tricks of the trade and maybe they will work for you.
1. Use a small plate when you eat. It gives the appearance (to your mind) that you're eating alot. If you use a dinner plate small portions look so sad on that big space. 2. Use small fork (salad fork) and teaspoon instead of tablespoon. It forces you to take smaller bites. 3. Put your fork down between bites. 4. Focus on what you're eating -- no conversations, TV, etc. Just some suggestions that might help. Keep trying things. If something doesn't work today, it may work next week. BTW you're doing great!

Hi there, yeah been quiet since the throw up a couple of days ago. Tough going on eating. Take two strides forward, one stride backwards.
I should see him in about 4 weeks I think. I'll go have labs done before then. Just arrived from support group and dinner. Ye Olde Today - poached egg on little baguette cross-slice - 4 shrimp - 1oz chili - 4oz crab cake - 1/2 grilled chicken finger (thin) Thx jp on the suggestions. Funny those were the same suggestions that were discussed tonight in support meeting. Tonight's topic was portion control. Last two days, not eating a lot in general, and low on my protein. I'm forced to drink it tonight. Found a cool iPhone app called Muscle Gain. It tracks proteins, carbs, fats, and has a pretty robust database of food and their values, including restaurant foods. Put in your portion and tells you how much of your protein you've consumed. Can put in your profile, etc. Not quite right for DS but works for the immediate need. thx /k Last edited by Kit; February 11th, 2010 at 09:36 PM. |
