Patient blogs/albums are long overdue here! If you have an existing "patient page", you can take that content and copy it to your blog section if you wish. In the past, those who had patient pages had to rely on me to post updates -- now, you will be able to take control yourself. Woo hoo! This is a good thing!
![]() I'm figuring things out as I go along, but there will be guidelines that everyone is expected to follow: 2.) Focus your blog on your journey as a DS patient. The purpose of the DS website is to be a resource for patients who are seeking information about this procedure, including all facets of how our lives are affected by our surgery decision. There are plenty of blogs available on the world wide web for general use, so I ask that if you develop a blog here, you use it to stay focused on your DS journey. Your blog can be as simple as a "Why I had DS" story, with before/after pictures, which is left pretty much static, or it can be a living, breathing, progressive accounting of all aspects of your journey. The choice is yours. 3.) Do not post pornography or hate speech of any sort. I will assertively enforce this, and remove any content that is found to be objectionable. In general, I want to give you the freedom to express yourself, but I will require a certain level of decorum here. I am not an oppressive moderator -- I just ask that everyone show respect for this community, remember why we are here, and abide by the few guidelines that I have set. 1.) Do not abuse our storage space. I am fine with uploading and sharing pictures, but please keep it reasonable. Although there is plenty of bandwidth for the time being, it can be eaten up very fast if we're putting hundreds of huge image files into our space. So, just be mindful of that. I will give you a gentle reminder if it starts to look excessive. Thanks! As I said, I'm figuring this blog thing out as we go along, so I will modify the guidelines as deemed necessary. Hello.
Hmm first post here, but why not. I am a Pre-OP waiting for my surgery date, and I am currently starting up a blog that I will hopefully update as things progress, starting with things that led up to my choice of surgery. however, I am Swedish, and the idea was to have the blog in Swedish at first, until I saw this. If you are interested in having a blog that is updated regularly, let me know, and ill work in some way of having it translated and posted here. (Unless I go nuts and just make an english version for my own blog) anyway, I look forward to talking to you all in these forums. /Mike |
